Oh, yeah ...forgot about that stuff ...MystiChrome! Some loved it and some hated it but it sure showed up form subtleties nicely. It was one of those colors that looked better in person than in pics.
I've heard Nissan is working an a color-changing paint now. Ford had one in development in the late 50s/early-60s, if I recall, but it never made production and I've often tried to find anything on it on the internet ...I often wonder what happened to that. As a kid I use to "send-away" (lol) for new car pics (and airplance pics!) every year ...and Ford talked about a experimental paint where you could just dial in your car-color to match your clothes, etc and that they'd developed a technology that looked promising ...never to be heard of again.

...oh, well.
It always intrigued me, especially since electrochromics (if that's what they wre doing - dunno) were like star-wars back then. I've even searched in the Ford picture archives when I had access but
nada. I'm guessing it just wasn't practical ...either tech or cost.
