I tried the Ice Liquid Claybar. Don't bother - I have a bottle that I'll probably never use up (well, maybe, see next para). If you've never done it before, use the Maguiars Clay Bar kit. It's a real bar (actually, two in the kit). It comes with the Maguiars detailer. I ran out of the Maguiars detailer when I was doing the truck last spring and used the Ice detailer. They are pretty equivalent detailer sprays. use the detailer to wet the area, clay bar, wipe with a microfiber towel, then spray again with detailer and wipe with a different microfiber towel. My Mustang took me about an hour (but I have a vert so no top) to clay bar. My Dodge truck took about two hours but it had never been waxed in 4 years. I also used it on the textured plastic parts (mirrors and splitter)! It really got lots of grime off those.

(Note: After a real clay bar treatment, I think the Ice Liquid might be an OK "mid season retreatment" application, then re-wax.

Also, I noticed that if you have any wax (i.e., Ice) before claybarring, you really have to remove the old wax first. A good strong solution of dish washing soap (instead of the Ice wash) will remove the previous wax. Else the clay bar drags alot and is hard to clean up.

I'm pretty meticulous about washing my cars. I was amazed at what the clay bar got off - not huge amounts of dirt, but what it does to the paint is amazing. You can feel the difference - the clay bar'd portion gets really smooth and that makes applying the wax and polishing very easy. I used to accept that polishing after waxing would always remove some additional dirt. After the clay bar there is none and the wax goes so much further.
