Orfstock 2009 Planning Thread

Momma D just called and said she just made it home OK

She was delayed slightly as she ran out of gas. Luckily for her it was about 20 min away from Raleigh and the guys from Auto Arts were there very quickly to make sure nothing happened to "their car".

She will pick up our 4-legged kids from the kennel tomorrow and then coordinate to get the car back in the shop to fix all the little things you guys helped me find while at Orfstock.

Shelbys are thirsty. I filled the tank 50 times on this trip I think.:sSig_lol2:

She said she didn't see the 50 miles to empty light come on and then count down to 0.

She was looking for the low fuel light to come on and ran her dry.

It is easy to do. The tank is so small, the engine so thirsty, and heck, I remember looking down after filling up with Master Chief at one point, and I had gone 23 miles and the needle was at 3/4...

That is a good question. It seems my car is way more popular than I am. The Darkmobile has been requested to appear at a car show at the Ford dealership in Wake Forest, NC on the 17th and then the shop wants to take it to Mustang Week in Myrtle Brach to show it off to advertise for the shop and hopefully win a trophy at the car show.

I may try to make it back for Mustang Week, but I would be missing our class graduation and I don't know if that is allowed or not

I will get it back for good when I move to Tampa. Until then it is a long distance relationship with both Momma D and the Darkmobile.

I am stuck at the speed of the U.S Government and its paper pushers. I am told that it will be no more than 6 months at the worst though.

Well after leading the pack (Black Shelby , Rown4au and 68 Fastback ) for most of the way because I had the cloaking device on my car, the wife and I got home at 4:00pm safe and sound . My car averaged 21.4 mpg on the way back
We had a great time and enjoyed seeing many farmilliar faces and meeting some new ones as well . What a great group of people, we enjoyed everyone's company and had lots of laughs.

I have to echo the remarks made by others that both Greg and Michelle did a fantastic job with planning and pulling off 'Orfstock 09'. Greg I know you must have spent many hours in putting this together.
I want to thank both of you for opening up your home to all of us the way you did and for all the hard work you put in from the planning to the hosting and cleanup.

You have a magnificent place there and I have to say.... I'm a bit jealous of Orf's "man cave" , his giant barn.

It was cool how we were able to line up all the cars on the front lawn like we did .


The food that was catered was awesome ( not surprised since Mrs Orf chose the menu) Thanks Mrs O !

The web cam that MasterChief brought was a lot of fun too as it allowed us to include the web site in on the fun too. Thanks MC!

I want to thank TommyGun for surprising me with a fantastic new GT500 Vista Blue mailbox signed by Snoopy too! I was totally caught off gaurd when I saw it sitting on the lawn in front of my car...Thanks TG



I also want to thank the folks at Washington Ford for allowing us to display our cars out in front of their showroom and for providing both food and drink as well. They even gave us a cool Washington Ford tee shirt with a GT500 on the back (in the fastest color too)! Thanks WF!



Thanks to folks like Orf , Lurker , gr8snkbite and others for taking the time to take pics (some of which I borrowed here) LOL








Oh and I don't want to forget to mention that we also had a perfect vantage point to see the early 4th of July fireworks display put on by the town..... Front row seats in the center of Orf's driveway...a great way to cap of a fantastic day!
