I clay bar'd my stripes when I got them.

I washed the car twice before that thought that they were clean.

Then I started to clay bar and did one part of the stripe (white)... OMG, what a difference. Now they're clean.

Don't push too hard, but it will definitely help.

Easy way to clean vinyl stripes...

Remove them and have them painted on.

Cool Re: Stripes need cleaning

Way back when I had vinyl stripes I treated them the same as the paint. Claybar and polish.

I did this same thing. Since you have the claybar out, us it on the rest of the car too. You will be amazed of the difference. In between polishes, I use the quick detailer.

Claybar'd most of my car tonight (except the hood). Last time I did it was last spring.

I keep it clean and wash often - it didn't look dirty, but what a difference after the clay! Especially my white stripes!! Mama Mia could I tell the difference after I was done.

On another note - I ran out of the spray lubricant stuff that comes with the clay. I tried using my ICE detailer with it... but after a small spot it didn't feel right so I stopped.

What should I use with the clay that I can get at a normal auto parts store?

Before I bought my car, I asked John at Dri Wash n Guard if I could safely use his product on my vinyl stripes, and he said yes. That's all I've used on my car so far, stripes and all.

Joe, I use Meguiars detailer whenever I use a clay bar. I usually pick up an extra bottle when I buy the clay bar kit. It's always worked well for me.

I love it too. Does a great job when I don't need to do a heavy duty cleaning.

Just about any over the counter detail spray will work. Mothers and meguiars come to mind. In a pinch car wash soap in a 32oz sprayer mixed 10:1 works too.
