Dave story #4 Shelbyfest - Diesel dope in Hermann

[Alloy Dave]

Ok, so soon after the Bank (the local bar that sold the nasty Shelby drinks) kicked us out for staying past closing time, we (me, HSURB, Joe G, and some other guy ) were walking back to the hotel. It was about a 10 minute walk. About 100 yards from the Bank this large jacked up diesel pick up goes by (I don't have a pic of it, but I think it kinda looked like this )



When he went past, he was obviously trying to draw attention by revving the engine and going faster than was necessary. We were walking on a sidewalk, I was in front with another person, and then Joe G and the other guy were in the "back row".

Evidenty (ahem), one of the guys in the back row threw their hands in the air as if to say "WTF" in regards to his obvious attempt to "show off". Evidently (ahem), the truck driver saw this....which we did not know until later.

No big deal, we kept walking. We eventually got to my car...and we stopped since I had a few gag gifts to give out. Before I go any further, I need to explain about a drug named "Doxidan".

Well that seemed to fit Mr. Boston Mike (BM) to a tee....but he was not with us, so I asked Joe to give it to him.

Just about that time as we all stood around my car, we look up and see some guy walking towards us with authority, muscle shirt on and a tatoo of a tarantula on one arm. He spit a wad from his chewing tobacco on the street as he approached, and loudly said "You guys got a problem?"

We were all like "WTF"? I had no idea what he was talking about (remember, I did not see the person in the "back row" raise their hands in the air earlier).

We said "what do you mean". He said "I saw you throw your arms up in the air back there, you got a problem with me?"

Evidently he had gone around the block just to come see us...awww...how sweet of him.

Joe finally diffused the situation by telling him we were just messing around....and he made some snide comment and left.

We all laughed for a few minutes, and no harm was done.

Now, which one of you did the arm waving.

P.S. I think HSURB was hoping for a repeat of when I took care of the car thief in KC. I was just clueless about what this guy was doing...I didn't even know it was the same truck.

I would be pissed if you guys were walking down the street in my town too. You should have told him you wanted to challenge him to a math contest.

I seen him pull over, get out of his truck and walk back towards you guys. I didn't know there was a problem. When he got out, he left his truck running and remotely locked his doors. This was a Dodge Cummings truck that looked like it was on stilts with chrome wheels, roll bar in the bed, lights on top of the roll bar etc etc etc. The typical redneck spoiled brat kid that thought he was bad ass. Those of us that were at the Wine Valley just laughed at him everytime he went around the block. You all know that the Cummings diesels are loud especially when take the mufflers off. Don't worry guys, his day is coming, the family sticks together. We have other contacts around here. He was harrassing us all weekend long with his quick starts at the stop sign about 50 times a night. He obviously had nothing better to do.

Fryd, scary thing is, I know the owner of that truck. It belongs to a good friend of mine's son. They live in East Bay, California.

I think I know who you are talking about. If he was driving through town and not doing any show of power, I have no problem with that. This is a small town and that is about all the kids have to do anymore. There is no real gathering place for them to go and there are no real activities. They are too young to go to bars. About all they have to look forward to is going to friends houses and hanging out there which can be real dull in my opinion. This town needs something for the kids to do but it is also too small for a cummunity center. Bowling alleys are too expensive to put in. Maybe I can put in a game arcade someplace.

I feel for the kids. I spent lots of time as a teen playing pinball. Perhaps a basketball gym night or maybe even a summer "car info" night where the kids can learn about cars and gather. You could get some of the locals to talk at the events....just do it in a parking lot 1-2 times a month in the summers only. Sell Stangmafia merchandise there too.

Yeah he got on it a couple times like when I was cleaning my car outside my B&B...I didn't have any problem with him just noticed him rolling through town about 5 times over the weekend...I grew up in a small town we used to borrow mom's minivan and load up to drive into the nearest larger town for a movie or whatever...Or we used to cruise town and hang out in parking lots probably like this kid was doing...

GTO guy was just cruising right? Dave never picked a fight with him...or did he??? Gotta watch yourself when yu get out in public with alloy dave. The minute terry is gone he's starting something.
