Where would you move Shelbyfest to?

Some other threads have hinted about moving SF at some point in the future.

My question is where? Columbia, KC, St. Louis? All have more hotels, restaurants and attractions but are spread out. KC and St. Louis have drag strips too but there are no hotels that close to KCIR.

If possible I'd love it to stay in Hermann. It's nice to be able to walk everywhere. Hopefully the lodging situation will improve. I went down there in Jan. and got a discounted rate at Harbor Haus and it was decent. Before I left I reserved a room for next year for the same amount. I hope we can stay in Hermann for future years.

I didn't make it this year but from the pics of Hermann it looks like a great place to have it and I hope to get there next year.

I hope they get everything worked out and have it in Hermann next year. It is such a laid back, relaxing small town. That's the attraction.

I am doing everything in my power to make sure we keep in Hermann but know this, Shelbyfest will be where we make it so if we have to move it so be it because while Shelbyfest has been held in Missouri....Shelbyfest IS all of you.....

I would like it in Hermann. I have really enjoyed going there each of the last 3 years and look forward to it now. This year we stayed at the nice cottages out on the outskirts and it was spendy but they were really nice and worth every penny for the kitchen, some what stocked fridge, grill, hot tubs, and view of the river....not to mention very new and clean and comforthable. I will likely stay there again but have held off booking incase we do move.

It;s one thing to pay for a place that is classy and worth it. Quite another to pay for the 1st class place because owners of places that are not at that level believe they can take advantage of a situation. They fail to realize we all like to drive. We can stay in other towns. Year 1 we all stayed in O'fallon and it was great anyway.

I hope this stays but as much as I love Hermann I would not b opposed to a move if Hermann proves to want nothing but to take advantage of us for $.
