Talked to the local performance hop here and they agreed about the shortys. Since I have Basanni already I think I would go with them but regardless I will have to buy new shorter x-pipe and hi flow cats as my current basanni ones wont fit with the mid pipe headers I am told. Is this true or are they trying to make more sales?

I don't know for sure on your year but based on my car it sounds right. You will know when they take the old ones off but if your stock is like mine it's very clear. I put on the long tubes and the stock part on our car had the cats and went more or less all the way up to the manifolds. The Long tubes came out and I initially had a high flow catted X prior to my current off road X set up. The off road X and the High flow set up are the same but are in fact much shorter than the stock things. As for how they tie into your current set up I would think if you have a cat back set up the shorter X would be made to fit and fill in that missing space. If not then the shop would certainly be able to cut and weld where they needed to but as much as I love magnaflow if you have Bassani I would do like you and stick with a full system. They fit better that way IMO and are set up to work properly.

I have ARH and there is nothing back from there so I have used a variety of things. Too much boost for the high flow cats now so i am on an off road pipe and we had to cut up the cat back magnaflow system (3" set up) to get it tot fit the Bassani axel backs since it didn't line up. It all works fine now but I like the Magnaflow better so i am going to eventually get a new cat back set up and plug it in.....and they do just plug in from the X pipe.

Bottom line is what they are saying makes sense to me - but you will know right away when you see the parts coming off if it is correct.

Im going out to another shop satureday to get the 08 GT lowered and will ask if they can do the work and if they can get the LTs. I will need to go out there again so they can check out the Cobra so maybe next weekend.

If I change my x-pipe to an off road one that will make it louder too? :D

Yes - it will be quite a bit louder. I actually liked the sound of mine with the high flow cats better (have toyed with putting them back and having electric cuut outs for open headers when needed). Mine sounds mean from the outside though as it is but I get a little rattle inside that bugs me...never had that before but here is the sound I have now....turn your volume way up for this:

one thing to do is make sure to get the headers and X jet hot coated or some type of thermal coating - it's worth the time and effort to keep under hood temps lower and is not overly $$$$. I didn't do it and now am going to pull them off to do it. The temp difference is noticably higher when not at a roll.

Great suggestion! the Cobra is black and it gets so damn hot here in LA that during the sumer I keep the top up with the AC lol
