Default Help Needed - Anyone get the KR Strut bar to fit on a Whipple 2.9 install?

Hey everyone,

Last touches on the car going together and of course another issue has surfaced. Has anyone done a 2.9 Whipple install on a car with the FRPP handling/lowering pack? This includes the same strut bar as the KR and looks like interference issues clearing the supercharger.

Has anyone done one yet? Looks like the spacers (ala JLT CAI kit style) will not give enough clearance. Even more difficult is trying to work throught the issue from 300 miles away...any ideas/experience would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Rob

PS: hopefully I actually finally have it back very early next week...been a long 4 weeks....

havent but have the suspension and am using the stock bar w/tvs. the frpp one is bigger with extra support brace which probably is preventing your install. you may have to cut/modify it to work or use the stocker. i had to enlarge the holes a bit to use it since the strut bolts are bigger..but it'll work..now just need to re-powdercoat.

wasnt it suppose to fit under the stock brace? that may be your best option.

Thanks...it will fit under the stock bar but hoping someone had a solution to use the beefier one...maybe someone has some ideas here.

A vendor on the other site stated it will fit the stock brace but not the FRPP.

Thanks...did you relocate the master cylinder resovoir? The clearance on my TB is no where near what you have in these pics and I can't see lowering the engine making it better...or maybe the CJ TB is that much narrower than the BBK one?

If you have a look at this pic you will see what I mean.

I don't think that is a CJ TB on that car.

Any idea what it is? I just assumed it was the CJ one when I saw the polished smooth upper surface.

Here is my setup with the stock tube. Cobra Jet TB and MAF. Plenty of clearance.

Thanks...the concern is with the Whipple plenum though...look at this pic, it is one chubby piece that pushes the TB off to the driver's side

Those pics are from a 3.4 whipple, our 2.9's locate the TB in a different location. My stock brace clears better with the 2.9 but would not clear the KR brace. Unless you're using the stock intake boot, I don't think any other aftermarket intakes clear the KR brace without mods. I know TG modded his to clear with the JLT intake with stock blower.
