Does anyone have the Moroso intercooler res. on their car? I just got one and have not installed it yet but noticed the inlet location is not in the same location that the stock one is and there is a petcock valve to drain fluid if needed. I'm fairly sure the hose can be bent to the location of the inlet on this but am not 100% sure how I feel about the petcock on the bottom. It is a lot bigger than the stock tank and a nice looking unit but I am wondering if anyone has one on their car how the install went and if you added extra watter wetter for the extra volume this tank holds.
Thanks

Doesn't Tommy Guns have this?

here you go - you will see on the top and back view the red petcock at the bottom is a place to put a hose and drain if needed. I'm probably just paranoid but I fear this thing opening on accident at the wrong time. The unit is well made and has a built in screen so ice can be packed in there to cool if needed (which I assume is why you would need to drain the thing so it wasn't too full.
The inlet tube is on the back rather than the side like seen in the stock version. The outlet tube is in the same place so no worries there. |

This one is a lot bigger than the PFab one. I don't know that there is much other difference.
Many have said that this will not allow the head out as it will heat up from the engine compatment since it is metal etc. I thought that to be the case for a while too and spoke about it to some pretty smart engineering types. It would seem that yes it gets hot but the fluid inside is hotter than the engine compatment so the metal will actually pull the heat out of the fluid better than the plastic as it does not insulate the hot fluid. There are 2 schools of thought on it. I have not yet decided if I'll leave it in but i think it will help in a couple of ways. Looks clearly, but also it will allow for more fluid and I think better heat release from the coolant. I don't know that I am going to be icing at the track and need some of the other functionality this provides but it's there if i want it. I am not rushing to install though as I have not had any issues with the set up I have - it's just an attempt to get better. |

really both are for drag racing. The Moroso one has the extra petcock to drain out fluid if you ice it down (I don't know if the pFab one does). Moroso holds a lot more fluid I believe but outside of that I think both are pretty similar (could be wrong though)
In theory the extra fluid and surface area would be better for cooling but I don't know what other factors have to be figured into this. |

You know what a co-pilots job is? To handle the ash tray and the lights. The ash tray is welded shut and don't touch the f@#$!@ lights! At least thats what I tell my copilot... ![]() That reservoir is pretty sweet looking though.
