Nice numbers.
I wonder what mines at with the TVS and Tune. No upper yet.

I take the numbers as they show up. I often drive in mid 80s at humidity ?50%, so I think the numbers are fair.

I don't pretend to know much about dyno stuff but have been told it's treated like a black art by a lot of shops. Mine made 444 stock (except for the KR mufflers.) I'm satisfied with that. Shelbysteve and I were talking Sat. night at SF about it. He was at the Hermann Motel with his son. He just bought a dyno for his shop and has been playing around with it. I'm interested to see what he can find out about the numbers and see data from someone without a vested interest in them being a certain figure etc. He also can calculate hp lost through the drivetrain. Pretty cool. |

SAE numbers are a true measurement. Glad to see the SAE reference on the sheet.

I would have thought it would be closer to 635rwhp. .

Dyno numbers will vary from dyno to dyno and HP #'s will also vary depending on conditions . For example a supercharged car tested at sea level on a dry day will make more HP than if it was tested at 3000ft elevation on a rainy day.
That said the way the dyno itself computes it's information and the way the info is loaded can have a dramatic affect on the numbers it will end up with. For example a Mustang Dyno can be adjusted to load the numbers in a way that will cause them to read different (either higher or lower)on that particular dyno than another Mustang dyno. If a Mustang dyno is setup correctly however it's resulting #'s will be typicaly lower than that of a Dynojet. Of course the customer will not be happy with that, thinking that the tuner is not doing a good job for him. This is not the case with a Dynojet dyno which is enertia based and is accepted as the industry standard because they usually will display similar numbers to other dynojets. They are a better option for comparing dyno numbers and mods from one dyno to another as they cannot be altered as a Mustang dyno can. The most important reason for using any dyno is it's ability to measure any gains made from your baseline HP #'s on that particular dyno to gains made on subsequent pulls after any modifications were completed. Another important reason is it gives the opperator the ability to read actual air/fuel and boost readings throughout the RPM range under load conditons in a controlled environment. This allows him to make the necessary fuel and timing corrections in the appropriate areas .

Nice numbers Dave. I was looking at the time that you ran. They were having problems with their Air Fuel meter that was killed by a drive shaft earlier. That is why you didn't get the A/F numbers. Mine come out 508 RWHP and 479 RWTQ on the first run they used as a base run. The A/F ratio on mine was at 11.8 throughout the RPM curve which is the range you want. I need to thank Justin from VMP Tuning for the great tune he gave me when I ordered my SCT tuner for my FRPP CAI. I am also running the KR mufflers plus the H-Pipe.

It was great talking with you on Sat night at Shelbyfest as well.
I have recently purchased a Dynojet 224xLC in ground unit. I am no expert yet and am still on the learning curve. The things we were discussing were about how the numbers can be manipulated somewhat. From what I have learned so far is that on a Dynojet it is usually a few HP. As in 20 hp or less depending on a few factors. What I have found so far "Justin at VMP knows way more I am sure" is that sometimes there is not a big difference between correction factors and other times there is more of a difference. It would be nice if everyone used and posted s.a.e. Things are much better on that end these days than when I first started the forums when I got my GT500. Also after you make the run you can sometimes choose between 2 different gear ratio's. These are not your rear diff ratio. I haven't really got into checking out what that option is for yet. It can change your HP readings as well. I have noticed that most dyno sheets I see posted do not have that listed along the bottom header under the graph. By default in the Winpep software it is listed on your dyno sheet. So I don't know if that is of importance or not in the numbers because you have to manually change that or it stays at the default gear ratio number. Again not a lot of HP difference but some. Also what gear you make the pull in also makes a difference on the HP numbers. Sometimes a lower gear or higher gear pull will change the numbers. What we have done on the few dyno runs is tried it in different gears and sometimes the lower HP cars do better in a lower gear. The high torque and HP cars seem to do better in a higher gear. I don't want to make a big stink out of this issue, but it is something to consider when chasing someone elses dyno numbers. I felt bad because I never broke 700 rwhp on my red coupe and I have seen others with higher numbers. I tried casually speaking with the guys that I had dyno my car...both Dynojets... and I felt like it was some deep dark secret. Hence I bought my own dyno. Crazy......probably... but I really have no interest in making that my lively hood. I just want my cars tuned to perfection and help others with their cars. It will never be profitable for me but then neither is my alignment rack the I purchased. Steve Quote:
