Guys:
My policy is use the best wax ever (Zymol...despite the blue residue) during the winter or rainy season. It has a great smell as well that will make your whole garage smell great.
Once the weather breaks, I use ICE exclusively. Never a single complaint.

gr8,

I love it! I also use the ICE paste wax. It goes on and off easy and leaves no residue. You can also use it on the black plastic parts on your car. Great product line.

I agree about the wax. I use the paste wax because that's what I grew up with. I have a bottle of the liquid wax that I've never used. I got a paste wax and so far I've done the one Shelby 3 times, one once and my truck (acres of sheet metal) and my jeep. I still have a two year supply left. It doesn't take much and really looks good. Plus I like the fact you can use it on the plastic parts - it really helps on the front parts to help get the bugs off.

Over the winter, I am going to use the Ice claybar to see how it comes out. Then I'll use the Maguires Classic Gold liquid wax. It is easy to work with, doesn't turn white on plastic and shines great. I use the Ice detailer when I show the car and I makes the car look great. I wasn't too impressed with the Ice wax.

I tried the Ice Liquid Claybar. Don't bother - I have a bottle that I'll probably never use up (well, maybe, see next para). If you've never done it before, use the Maguiars Clay Bar kit. It's a real bar (actually, two in the kit). It comes with the Maguiars detailer. I ran out of the Maguiars detailer when I was doing the truck last spring and used the Ice detailer. They are pretty equivalent detailer sprays. use the detailer to wet the area, clay bar, wipe with a microfiber towel, then spray again with detailer and wipe with a different microfiber towel. My Mustang took me about an hour (but I have a vert so no top) to clay bar. My Dodge truck took about two hours but it had never been waxed in 4 years. I also used it on the textured plastic parts (mirrors and splitter)! It really got lots of grime off those.

(Note: After a real clay bar treatment, I think the Ice Liquid might be an OK "mid season retreatment" application, then re-wax.

Also, I noticed that if you have any wax (i.e., Ice) before claybarring, you really have to remove the old wax first. A good strong solution of dish washing soap (instead of the Ice wash) will remove the previous wax. Else the clay bar drags alot and is hard to clean up.

I'm pretty meticulous about washing my cars. I was amazed at what the clay bar got off - not huge amounts of dirt, but what it does to the paint is amazing. You can feel the difference - the clay bar'd portion gets really smooth and that makes applying the wax and polishing very easy. I used to accept that polishing after waxing would always remove some additional dirt. After the clay bar there is none and the wax goes so much further.

I use Zaino products on my GT500, but use liquid ICE on my other vehicles. The ICE is easy to apply and is more durable than I was led to believe. I also use ICE on my Shelby's black plastic moldings.
