WARNING-DO NOT PRESSURE WASH

Guys:
I found out this morning that pressure washers are NOT COMPATABLE with decals!
I was not even spraying the decal directly...i was spraying under the car to clean the under-belly. When I walked around to the other side of the car, my drivers side GT 500 1/4er panel decal had seperated from the fender. I was able to adhere it back, but it will need to be replaced i'm sure.

Also, do not use a belt sander on your car's finish.

Also, don't drive your Shelby in 2 degree weather on a road covered entirely with an inch of ice.

If you got all the bubbles out when you readhered it, it should be okay.

At least that was my experience.

I still think its lame that ford elected to use vinyl decals on a car like the GT500.

I would throw out there that you need to not pressure wash, or hose down the engine bay. Clean in there with elbow grease not lots of water or steam even. The computer and Mass Air Meter is sensitive to this stuff. Just ask the genius at the ford dealer that was detailing my car early last year. Stupid.

oh so I shouldnt pressure wash my cold air intake filter........when its still attached to the car? man I wish someone told me that earlier...

He actually never came back to work. THe service advisor said he just called and asked to have his check mailed to him the next day....then asked what I said to him.

Power washers are for work trucks and motocross bikes never use them on vehicles you really care about, I've seen some lift paint let alone decals...

Even some automatic car washes can damage the side stripes. Hand wash only!

With the right nozzle, they can gouge holes in your bumper cover too.

I use the car wash all the time with no problem. I only go to one car wash and I haven't had any problems yet. If you don't plan on changing your stripes, you can always have them painted on. It might cost a little bit but it will look great and stay that way. I never use a pressure washer on my cars. It is ever do, I adjust the head so it doesn't have as much pressure.
