Nobody cleans my 500 or my motorcycles except me for that very reason.

Most detailers/car wash guys are just trying to make a buck short term, no little about automotive finishes and don't give a rats azz about your car, but are happy to take your ride out for a spin when your not around.

I finally got a good one. It's the 3rd try - I also do some myself but i hate cleaning the car. About all I hate worse is for it to be dirty.....good that I have black huh.

Yeah, I know but Black is worth the trouble, the Black Verts look fantastic especially at night.

my youngest son thought that a pressure washer at the local car wash would be a good way to remove baked on bugs from his painted bumper (08 escape)

....actually removed the paint in a couple of areas.......he must have been holding it an inch away, if he wasn't my son I would be calling him a complete idiot.........

I will admit...I do use the high pressure washer at one of those self service washes...just never close on the stripes...they work great getting rid of the lovely brake dust on the wheels....as far as when I spray the car its from a good distance.....works well..

..at the end of winter, I actually go to the car wash to spray down the underneath real well, get rid of all the nasty sand and salt (yep, I actually put it on the road with that crud, I refuse to let the car sit for too long)

Wow you drive your 500 in the winter sheit...What do you put on it for snow tires?

Here's the one and only time I took my car to a car wash. It was May of 07 two months after I bought the car. There was a warning in our manual that mentioned low clearances, but nothing about the stripes. I checked the car wash tracks and figured I was OK. I didn't consider the rocker panel power washers...
