I have just left mine off, and keep it behind my seat on the floor.....if I get stopped I will just explain why I am hesitant to ruin the stripes on the front bumper....either they are ok with it, or I get a ticket and I pay it. No tickets yet over two years......if you get stopped for driving really poorly, I think you can expect to get an additional citation for the missing plate though

I am probably more comfortable with my type of approach because I am a federal law officer, and probably could talk my way out of the ticket anyway.....I just prefer to not get stopped in the first place so I drive pretty carefully most of the time...

and every year in Missouri there is a proposal to no longer require a front plate; I keep hoping it will pass at some point...

I have this on the front of mine, works well and no problems so far.

When I was a kid, I use to get about a ticket a week for no front plate.
Now that I'm middle aged, I just tell em I found it fugly and they write nothing.
It's only ilegal to have no front plate if you can get more trim than the guy pulling you over.
If not, you're fine. Be submissive, stick out the gut and let em see that balding melon of yours. It'll save ya holes in your front bumper.
