Okay So Here's What I Would Like To See

So everyone like's a friendly competition right?

Well last week I had the privilege of riding in Iceman's tremendous machine and while there were no shenanigans, I could tell I was riding in some serious HP.

Later that same day I was given the opportunity to drive MrFarmDog's most bodacious machine. All I can say is that I'm not man enough to pilot a car that fast on a regular basis.


So here's the deal....if I can get Gateway International set up for the friday of Shelbyfest weekend, I call for a race between Iceman and FarmDog......

To see those two awesome Shelby's run down the track would truly be a treat.

Thoughts??????????????

I'm sure we would both be game if the logistics work out. He's kill me on our street tires I suspect as he's running ET Street Radials and I have KDW's but if I put on the slicks then I'd have a good shot at him...It would be one of the rare times I was up against a car with more rwhp than my own. Our set ups are very similar.

We can race and say the winning driver gets the losing car but I'll drive his car and he'll drive mine....that way if i win i get mine and if he wins he gets his....I'm pretty sure neither one of us would put our car on the line in that race or take the other guys.


How about this....we'll try to make the race happen if we get Shelbyfest 2008 video first! How about that????

The logistic issue is I will likely have at least a wife and kid (maybe 2 kids) and may go right to hermann this year and that would have to be on Thursday then to make Friday work for the race....I'm not 100% sure the wife would go for all Day Friday hanging out in a town alone with the kids where she knows nobody....I know Kyle would dig the track but I doubt I can get Katie and Kelly there.....we'll figure it out though....I'd like to see Harley Dealers car run in person. The launches he gets are great and that car has some push behind it!

Oh and Kyle - had I know what you were up to i'd gladly have given you a more fun ride Although I tend to be very careful in the wet conditions.

I had no intention of insighting a riot here. But after riding in your car, even on the wet pavement, I could just feel that is (as we say in my part of the country) a BAD MO CHINE. John offered the drive in his so how could I resist?

It would just be a blast to watch you guys run each other.

Historically Chris has had better times than me and I am not running that much more HP than he is so at this point driver mod would be the determining factor (he probably has me beat there as well). Never the less it would be a good time so I am game!!!

The most fun race I have had thus far was with a Corvette with a 250 shot of gas and we had to look at the time slips to see who won! He did (damn it)! The moral of the story is you don't have to win to have fun!

I would like to see some type of friendly Shelby race competition at Gateway. Clearly heads up would be fun but I am not into bracket racing so heads up in classes based on mods would be cool... It could be based on a few things...

Fastest times - ranked by participant and grouped by mods (i.e Replacement SC, Stock SC, etc)

We could also give prizes to the following -Closest guess to 60ft, ET and MPH
