I still have this little piece of paper pictured below that my Grandma Mary kept that has the APO address where she sent her nephew the things you see typed there. This little piece of paper gets me, every time. Every time.

In the one photo I have of my cousin at around the time, you can see him, hand on chin, at the close end of my Grandma Mary's couch.

Paul was twenty years old when he died. May 31, 1969. The above link has his Silver Star citation and other information.

I just saw this. I'm glad you are keeping his memory alive. I read the link that you posted about how he died. What a hero and a brave man. I can see why you are so proud of Paul.

Paul's brother Ed, who now lives in North Carolina, was able to visit the Wall here in D.C. 40 years to the day of his brother's death.

The Internet is really great for people to be able to share like this.

Never met him, but he is family. And he sacrificed everything. Worth remembering indeed.
