JL, I remember those pictures from the first Shelby Fest. It's 3 years later now and many of the same people still getting together for their annual fall cruise. I just hope it never ends because I have met some really nice people.

You know my wife asked me to define what I got out of hanging out with all of you folks yesterday after the cruise. Not being much of a car person, she's trying to understand.

Between events like yesterday and shows like Shelbyfest, I would have to say that the greatest benefit of all of it is meeting some folks that have become good friends.

One of our first year Shelbyfest attendees has become a very good friend of mine plus I have had the pleasure of eating dinner and meeting up with many others as I have done some travelling. I have always felt very welcome.

This is one of the things I am trying to get my son to see as he is bringing his little 01 V6 stang out to the events. He likes seeing all the muscle but has yet to see the benefit of the social relationships. We'll get him there. The younger generation is what we have to focus on in order to keep things like this alive.

Very well said and very true. Meeting the people that we talk to on a daily basis through the eyes of these forums is best benefit of all. It's not only all about the cruises or the events, it's all about the people who share the passion and love for the cars that we drive.

Agree as well.

The cars bring us together, but the friendships grow from there.
