Stang Mafia Car of the Month

I was thinking that a lot of other sites has a car of the month so can't we? There would be a few simple rules.

1. If you would be interested in becoming the car of the month, post a picture of your car (please, no Photoshop pictures), details about your car and why you think your car should be the car of the month. This would be limited to Lifetime members only (unless the consensus is to open it up to all members or this could be a way to help the Lifetime membership to grow).

2. If your car wins car of the month, you would not be eligible to enter your car for at least 12 months. This gives other members a chance to win throughout the year.

3. You may enter your car as many times as long as you have not won in the past 12 months.

4. At the end of the year, the car of the month for the past 12 months will be entered into the car of the year. Each person would have to repost their car again and update any additional information that has changed since being the car of the month.

5. I think there should be a maximum of 10 cars per month to vote on by the members of Stang Mafia.

6. There does not need to be any nominations, it is in the interest of the owner if they would like to enter.

7. People voting should vote for the car they feel is best and not because they are good friends with the owner or the car looks cool. Take into consideration how much effort and thought that the owner has put into the descriptions, details, pictures etc.

8. There could be a banner added to the winners avatar like the FMOM banner and maybe some kind of discount in the BVM store. This would be up to the site moderators to decide.

This is just an idea and maybe we can all as a group expand on this or just trash the idea all together.

My opinion FWIW. I agree we need to correct member of the month first to make it more consistent and get more voting... My feeling is the member of the month averages less than 10% of member contribution as far as voting goes so we need someone to moderate and chair that more including driving the vote more etc. Then to do the car of the month I have seen many sites do it but they most seem to lose their luster after a while.... Maybe doing both every month will water it down too much why not member of the month and car of the quarter with member donated prizes.. Or maybe the car of the year which is derived from the four cars of the quarter .. Whoever wins gets the grand prize that a panel of willing members donates. I would obviously donate something with casino in mind... Maybe something from one of our vendors etc.. my two cents

I think you guys are making too much of this . I don't think it should be a contest at all.

It should consist of a different member's car each month,every other month or quarter and be decided on by the site administrators and moderators .Eventually including all members car's on a rotating basis. This way there is no voting problems like the 'Family member of the month' has with only a small percentage of the membership actually voting.

Think of it as a "Featured" Member's car of the month item . Photo's of the car and a list of mods etc can be submitted by the member to the designated (COM)moderator after said member is notified their car has been chosen.

These are all very good points. Keep the ideas coming and I will compile a list of all the ideas and present them. How many moderators do we have here?
