Let the BTM begin. Bought one of the new F150 trucks today. I gave in a purchased the 2nd fastest color - BLACK.

I pick it up on Tuesday. It is the new Platinum package, and yes it has the Man Step on the tailgate. Now the difficult wait begins.

What's a matter with black vehicles in the middle of a desert? Don't you like to cook stuff on your hood?


We had a black Honda Civic when we lived in the desert. That thing was smoking at times.

The black does come in handy in the desert. The blood stains in the bed can just cook off.

Just tint the bejesus out of the windows. Thats my plan.

Tint works wonders there. I had a 50% tint in my Integra there, but had I known I was going to end up in the desert, I would've gone darker. When my wife upgraded the Civic to a Suburban, she went from zero tint to 20% factory tint & it was incredible at the amount of difference it made.

It is almost a must out here. The truck back windows are tinted pretty dark (see photos in last post) and I am thinking of doing the same up front.

When we lived in Kalifornia, you couldn't have any tint on the front windows unless it was from the factory. We tended to park with the back end facing south whenever possible.

Now thats one good lookin' truck. I've seen one or two platinum specials runnin' around town. Looks great in person.

That is all I have to say about this truck. I've never been around a Platinum before, but Ford has gone over the top with this truck.

The exterior it predictable, but the interior is excellent. The quality is awesome, and the look is incredible. I'll get photos.
