Exclamation Jaguar's aren't Fords anymore but...(new GT500 Engine?)

The new 2010 XKR gets an all new AJ V8 with an EATON supercharger for 510BHP. Smaller displacement than ours (GT500s) but more power. Considering the still working relationship between Ford and Jag could this all new, all aluminum, 5.0L, Eaton Supercharged, V8 be the 2011 GT500 Engine?

Interesting question JT ,maybe it is one of the Aussie Ford engines or something of a British variety, dunno .
I highly doubt Ford would let Jag use one of their new engines before they actually first release it. The new aluminum block in the 2011 GT500 is reported to be the same 5.4L displacement that it is now and will use the same cyl heads and all components it has now.

Could it be that Jag is using the TVS instead of the M122 ? Maybe that's where they are getting that kind of power out of their 5.0 engine.....

Difficult to tell with the typical LUXURY CAR engine shrouding and covers.

I have always wondered why BENZ, Bimmer, Jag etc. keep their engines a secret, even when the hood is opened.

Whenever I took the Shrouding off my 540I it looked like crap.
But they are used for sound deadening as well as appearance.

Interesting. I will say, seen this car on the road, 2010, and it is amazingly sexy and sounds great as is, can't imagine with this set up!
