1978 King Cobra
I found a 1978 King Cobra coming up for auction

I had 1 for my 2nd car ever. 1st was a 1971 mach 1 I blew the rear main seal on and lcked up the engine. Then bought this for 500 and found out it had cams and gars already done. Bought from auto shop teacher in HS and it was a great little car...although pretty ugly it was fast...or quick I should say. It tpped out about 115-120 and took a while to get there but was great up to about 90. Chirpd th tires at 80 when it shifted (3 spd. auto). I actually miss that little car. Lots of memories in my early mustangs....I wish I had them both still and a garage to put them in.....Oh the 78 had amustang standing up like th lone rangr horse etchd into the glass.....CLASSY all th way!!! Hey - it was when Mullets were all the rage.

Have to pipe in here, but I thought that model year (gas crisis or not) was the ugliest and worse diving Mustangs of all. It was a Pinto with a HO motor in my books. Had a 75 with a 302. All of I think 140HP at the time... still drove like a Pinto, but could light up the tires.... sorry... just not my cup of tea.... I always said it was a death trap on wheels... LOL
