MO/KS Cruise

Is there anyone interested in getting a Missouri and Kansas cruise together one Saturday sometime in October before all the leaves hit the ground? I was thinking of meeting someplace around the KC area and hitting some country roads. Perhaps stopping of at some tourist attraction shops, restraunts or parks. Have about 4-5 hour cruise. We can meet someplace that is easy to find for everyone. Since I don't know the area, maybe someone might like to help out. I know of only one date that I can't make and that is October 11th and I am not sure if October 4th would be too soone to get anything together.

I'm tied up on the 11th also. Is a Sunday out of the question? I work on Saturdays. I'd like to attend if possible. Maybe have a meeting at a restaurant at 11:30 on Sunday to beat the church crowd, then go for a cruise? 11:30 would give most of us ample time to get there.

How about meeting in the central part of the state? Rolla, Camdenton, etc. I'm not that familiar with the roads around the KC, either, but the center of the state might be more scenic. Just my .02.

Is the "other" cruise off?

We can do what ever we want to do for this cruise. I just threw out a thought and we can expand on that. Sunday is not out of the question, it may open up more time for some people like me. I know some people do alot of stuff on Saturdays. The time of around 11:30 sounds like a good time and I was thinking of meeting arond that time anyway. We take any suggestions that anybody wants to give. I thought we can cruise and see some of the fall foliage at peak time hopefully. That will give us ample places to take some great fall shots of our cars in different settings. We can do Springfield, Jeff City, Lake of the Ozarks or where ever we want. I bet the Lake of the Ozarks would be nice to get on some of those back roads.

i would not be oposed to a cruise on a sunday, but i am over 4 hours from KC already, a south west mo cruise would be fun

Being from Springfield, I'm pretty familiar with the roads around here. We have some nice driving roads. If the consensus turns out to be Springfield, I don't mind setting it up.

Camdenton, Jeff, Lake of the Ozarks, those all work for me as well. Vapor, are you familiar with the roads around the lake?

I know how to get through the Lakes on 54 but it shouldn't be too hard. There should be some nice hills, woods and roads around there. I'll take a look at Goggle Earth and see.

How many miles would we want to travel? It looks like we can go around Lake of the Ozarks for about 90 miles. That would be a complete circle. There is Jacobs Cave not far off the main road. We could take another route that would be 20 miles shorter but I am not sure if there are any gravel roads involved. We don't need to be going through them.

I am still open for suggestions from anyone.

What kinds of roads are they? If they're all 30-mph curves for 90 miles, I wouldn't like that. But if we can open 'em up once in a while and stretch our legs, that would be OK. No gravel for me!

Can you give me the route so I can plug it into Streets and Trips?

I would be gung-ho for one, but the weekend of the 4th is buried (2 weddings and a funeral..........no joke). And I'll be in the land of Nut-Max the following weekend (still trying to figure out my schedule for a possible meet.........Max & Nut, any chance y'all might be going to the Cards/Cowboys game? That's where I'll be on Sunday).

Any Sunday in October is good for me. I only have the 11th taken up.

Here is the route.....almost 90 miles. Jacob's Cave is not far off the highway at Gravois Mills.

That should work. Think we should go ahead and post up the date, 11:30 start time (and place) and route? It would be nice to have 20 - 30 cars. Are we restricting this to Mustangs or can anybody join in?

It doesn't matter to me who comes. I figure the more the better. The 11:30 start time is good. We can all meet up in a Walmart or Lowes parking lot or have the start point in Camdenton. I'd hate to loose anyone going through Osage Beach.
