Ford Motor Company will be the featured automaker of the 2009 SEMA Show, taking place November 3–6 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
"Ford has always been a strong supporter of SEMA and our industry," said Christopher J. Kersting, president and CEO of SEMA. "We are pleased to announce their participation as Vehicle Manufacturer of the Show and to be collaborating with them on several branding and technology programs." more... This is always a very good thing. Last time Ford was featured automaker there were a lot of goodies shown and they expanded into the adjacent inteview/stage area ...when the GT500 was previewed as a 'concept' with the engine on a display stand ![]() Who knows what it will be about this time. I'm sure there will be a lot of Ford-blessed project cars/trucks and there are always some Ford specialty projects (like the Fuel Cell Fusion a couple years ago and the speed-record E85 Mustang [last year?]). Ford has historically done a big blow-out at SEMA when they are the featured manufacturer. There certainly are a lot of cool cars/products to feature: FRPP stuff, Taurus SHO, new Verve/Fiesta, Lincoln MKS, F150 6.2BOSS and Raptor, the new Focus with maybe the 600+HP Focus RS if it wins at Pikes Peak in July? ;-) Ford sure has a lot of new tech to feture too ...from EcoBoost to PWTA/spray-bore but since this is about the aftermarket and Ford wrote the formula for modern aftermarket relationships with the Termies and then the '05-up mustangs, it will be interesting to see what 'flavor' this takes since it's always a reflection of where Ford is going and how it's positioning itself in some way. Oh, and maybe ...just maybe, the BOSS 5.0? ...who knows?

that logic has alot going for it! ;-)
... I see Harrah's has dropped the prices dramatically on rooms at all seven of their LaVegas properties ...SEMA rates starting at $30 (yep, thirty). Of course, now that my daughter moves east Ford plans a big shindig ;-)TG, what was speedracer's offer? I'm 'grandfathered' (shut up!) as a SEMA alumni business, so I can get in no problem as long as I reg at least 45 days in advance. Just not sure I want spend on the airfare this year but if a bunch were going...

The easiest way (but totally 'illegal') is to use someone else's credentials ...someone who is an alumni and has registered for the event and who you can meet up with in Vegas and 'borrow' their credentials -- you have to wear them around your neck at all times and they only ship credentials to the address-of-record0). If you get caught they'll definately throw you out, but I've never heard of them doing a random check once you're in. You can register as a new employee of an existing business and have that business sponsor you but they'll still demand the W2s or pay-stubs. They'll take your money when you register but will later deny your ragistration (before you travel) if they don't get the papers ...the reg fee is non-refundable. Attantence was down last year (for the first time in long time) so possibly they'll be more lenient this year on new registrations (dunno) but up until last year they have been tightening things more every year to keep out the genreal public ...they've made it a real p.i.t.a.

![]() SEMA probably figured Ford is the only NA auto manufacture guaranteed to still be in business by the fall ![]() I am thinking they are going to have some hot E-85 powered cars there to line up with a greener HP solution and be in line with some of the newer technologies you mentioned like Ecoboost etc. Good news for sure that they are the feature.

No one under 18 is admitted -- not open to the public.
They do make it very tough to get in (unless you borrow someone's credentials that day -lol). Check their homepage and then you can go here and follow the link (upper right) to registration page where you can put in your e-mail address and start to follow the registration process (you can bail at any time, not to worry)... towards the end they'll inform you of the needed credentials to get approval and where you must fax them to, etc.
