Project Raptor - F150 SVT?

Anyone heard anything about the "Raptor" pick up? Supposedly a baja 1000 ready type of truck from the F150 platform. Don't know if warranty covers jumping but the little I was able to dig up on it was interesting (especially the part about it may be an SVT offering).

Not sure how current these are but they each have some small insights: A B C ... I looked but can't find the original Ford Media release.

This appears to be the latest info tho -- complete with a July-vintage video. I hope they follow thru ...it could even drive a few extra sales and a lot of attention. That alone might warrant it going forward.

thanks for digging that up. I'm hoping they do it too. I don't know that I'd get one as my daily driver because i doubt they will do the big 4 door cab for structural strength reasons but it would be nice having those in the mix for sure and the suspention available

I wonder if the warranty covers jumping?

when i went to the Ford Dealer show in vegas they showed the proto type and talked about the raptor

That big fat four drive is hardly a Lightning.

Not that the is anything wrong with big fat things, but the Lightning was a perfomance truck for the road. All this weight would not improve on the last version. Frankly my old Lightning is getting a little tired and I wished they made a replacement. The Roush conversion doen't do it for me.

Of course I could spend a little on the old truck and replace the engine with the current GT-500 version, the transmission would need some work. I am also not sure how the "old" ECC-IV would work either, it would for sure need to be reprogrammed.

And I can't get it away from Mrs. Carnut. I'm not letting her have all that power.:mafia20smile:

..a friend that owns a dealership up the road came back all excited from the dealer meeting. I guess the truck was pretty impressive. Its not a followup at all to the Lightning, but geared apparently to off road racing etc.

I totally agree Nut you DO need a new truck! Because I have such a deep held respect for you I am willing to take that old, sorry, beat up Lightning and give it a loving, caring home. I promise to give it regular oil changes and only lay rubber on Sunday. PM for shiping address, I know you wouldn't think of having me to pay for transportation so I won't embarrass you by offering.
