Shelby to be branding engines that, presumeably, SHM will build. Sounds good *if* they're done right. I'd prefer FRPP or Roush tho. ;-)

Interesting.....once bitten, twice shy, IMO......FRPP is certainly the way I will go in the future.

WHo knows - clearly they need something in Canada to handle the cars that otherwise ned to be shipped to Vegas for the SS conversions etc. If they have the ability to enhance engines/build new ones etc then they may have taken advantage of SAI's need and desire to be able to get the Canada Market with out shipping over borders etc. From a cost pespective it would make sense to me.

As for their high performance engines - I'll believe that when I see it but what little I know if SHM is good. There is no reason to think they won't do a good job and eventually be agrivated by SAI's lack of response and pull out ;)

There are already 2 other mod shops doing the same thing. Why not have one for the Canadians? I can see alot of advantages to it and the most impotant one being crossing the border.

Sorry but I would never buy anything built by SHM. Now FRPP or Roush that's a different story.

SAI has trouble putting STICKERS and hood scoops on straight! Would I trust them to buid an engine capable of 950hp??

That's about all I'll say about that!

..I think that realistically you have to consider the value added factor. In reality, what can SAI contribute to the value added other than the name? Obviously there are enough buyers who will pay extra for parts/cars with the name to make it worth while. But if the name is not important, you can do it yourself or use someone else (except for the badging) for about half the money. That's not bashing SAI or anyone else, but is just the cold hard facts. I think that SAI has come to grips with the "name" being their most valued item, and that is why the licensing battles have become so intense lately. If my name could be sold like the CS name, I guess I would be filing a bunch of lawsuits also to ensure that its marketing and value would continue.

As far as implementation, I think that it might be best to buy something that just has the name instead of SAI putting it through their process (such as the gt500 which is fully built by ford). SAI seems to be high and low for production quality, which bothers me more than a facility having a known and stable build quality. That way I can make a educated decision about whether to pay the price being requested.
