Shelby SR
Now all the Mustang GT owners can get their cars upgraded to a Shelby Racer. They are putting out 550 HP. I believe this car was an 07. There was no mention on the price and how long it would take to get your upgraded. This was unvailed today at the Tulsa cruise in front of channel 2.

Ok, so you are adding $31,500 to a base GT, shipping to and from and for LESS money you can buy a brand new 2010 Shelby GT500 with the same HP? Give me a break, and the delusion continues! How many more ways can Shelby cut the same pie, and continue to dilute the name. Sorry, this just pisses me off. Our one time so called collector or cool unique cars are nothing more than vapor-wear for money hungry SAI!

I know that the continued issuance of these cars can be frustrating.....but in reality, they are just a fairly small business trying to stay alive.....and their biggest asset is the ability to "add value" with the addition of the shelby name.......plus their mod shop really is pretty limited to bolt-on type of activities....so there is no reason that this should be at all surprising. I would just hate to be working for them, knowing that within a few years, following CS' death, the hammer could easily fall on all of the employees.....their's is not a train that one can ride forever...

Don't get me wrong, I love my car and have always been a BIG fan of Mr Shelby. I always loved the original GT500's even, or admittedly especially the '69/'70's. But for me if Ford had made my car simply a Cobra I would have been just as happy. Probably even happier because I wouldn't have had to go through so much shite to get it and would have gotten a better deal. As for SAI I think my opinions are well documented here. I guess I understand Mr Shelby wanting to make as much as he can while he's still here and a hot commodity, and of course Amy B is such a mercenary...... person she would never care how she destroyed his reputation to make a buck. I imagine she will duck any responsibility for the collapse of SAI just like she took all the credit for happening to be in charge when his popularity took a resurgent explosion (due in no small part to Ford thank you very much). If she was really such a great manager she would be taking steps to insure quality control of products with the Shelby name and be more careful to protect the Shelby legacy. Instead they have had a constant rush to make every buck possible, no matter how many fans and customers they alienate, which will have an adverse affect in the long run.
