First Time To Track . . . sorta

Co Pilot and I went to the track yesterday.

It was the first time I had been to a drag track in person. (when they were actually running cars any way, I have been when a show was going on).





It was pretty unbelievable, much cooler in person.

There were some really fast Mustangs there.








And a funny car or two...




This guys times made me wonder if it was a 1/8 mile time?? Seems unbelievable, but everyone elses times were 1/4 mile.






So where is my run you ask?


That's where the 'sorta' in the title comes in.


We went to this track because in the woods all around the track they allow you to ride (for a fee) ATV's. LOL

We went to ride and they happened to have a test and tune going on.

So the whole day we were riding we could hear them blasting down the track.

Co Pilot liked the track so much that she spent most of her time watching that!

Your next step is to enter your car at a Test and Tune night. You only need to compete with yourself so it takes the pressure off to win.

Sometimes this seems like work.

Checking brakes, getting them running after sitting a while, loading/unloading, and cleaning them up.

But all in all it is a good time...til the soreness sets in.

Hubby and son are both in pain today due to over doing it yesterday.

We haven't done this in a while, so I took it easy. One decent ride to my credit without trying to over due it by tackling the terrain like a wild woman. I spent the rest of the afternoon eye spying the track action and enjoying a little girl talk.

You're husband's an old fart now. Make sure he takes some Tylenol/aleve and stays away from strenuous activities for a while.

Considering how drastically our active life style changed when the Shelby arrived, and the fact that he's getting older, I'm surprised he's still moving up and down. We went from jet skiing or quadding every weekend to him taking cruises around town all weekend long. The son and I hear the story about if we want to go do something he's up for it, but we know where he'd rather be. I've adapted, somewhat. The son has his own things he enjoys, computer, games and

I gave up dirt biking long ago because of the pain. But still I wish I could ride every now and again.

My wife won't do it either, but I get a kitchen pass to go whenever I want due to my 15 yo son...
