Is this a simple install? I thought it was just the knob, but it has a different shaft meaning it needs to be done from underneath the car?

It fits the M-7210-B short throw shifter also available in our store. That is about a 1 to 2 hour install based on how many coffee breaks one takes. The knob and handle above is a 5 minute bolt on afte the short throw is in place.

What is the difference between this and the Ford racing shifter in BLK? They look identical.

I think it is a combo of the M-7210-B and this M-7213-J, but I could be wrong....it won't be the first time.

I saw this last night when I began pulling in the Cobra Jet Parts that are available for purchase.

Ive got this in my car, and black is beautiful! You dont need the short throw shifter though...you can bolt straight onto the stock shifterplate. I did add a little piece of cardboard in between the plate and the stem for a spacer though...it doesnt come with a rubber gasket.

Later I added the FRPP short throw and it is a great combination. I put the SAI short throw in the other car, and I have to say...I like the FRPP better...it is much smoother to me. I believe this would be disputable on different likings though.

Ok, so stupid question. I have the FRPP shifter in place, can you JUST buy the black ball TOP and screw it on? Or do you have to replace all that is shown above? And if just the ball, can that be bought separate?

You can put just the knob on the stock stick, but youll see the threads below the knob.

I was told it's only sold as the set.

But if Rags says that it fits the stock stick, then you can just store the black stick in case you change your mind.

The FRPP black or white ball will not fit the GT500 stock shift handle. So you will need to change the shift handle also.



Shift Ball Sizes:
GT500 Stock = 12mm x 1.25
MRW = 12mm x 1.25
FRPP KR = 3/8 x 16
Hurst = 3/8 x 16
Steeda = 12mm x 1.75
Shelby = 12mm x 1.75
