So it sounds like Dave, John, and Maybe Joe will be bettering there 1/4 mile time soon. Dave....Give away the M&M's and buy some carrots.
![]() The last 10 days of vacation have been tough. Snowed in at the house and lots of food to try to stay away from. I weigh in every Sunday after I run in the morning. I only put on 2 pounds last week. I thought it would of been more. This Wed the 10 of us at work all weigh in that are in the 4 month contest. I'm curious to see how my co-workers have been doing. I weighed in today at 265, so no real gain, but also no real loss, since I started my efforts to lose my belly a week ago. I suppose that's not too bad since wed, thurs and fri were not days that my intake was very controlled (get togethers with the inlaws for the most part)
I got some more test results (bad) in the mail friday, as well as another prescription from my doctor, so things are definitely not so good right now. It looks like the belly really has to go, not much more room for denial..... ![]() ..the only good thing is that the various 8 pills I take every day now are screwing up my stomach, so I really don't feel like eating all of the crap that I used too......taking my victories where I can....

John,
That news is your kick in the butt motivation. You are going to turn this situation around and be in much better shape for Spring and by the time Summer is here, I suspect you will be off most of the meds and well on your way to a better eating life style. John....we are all pulling for you. You can do this.

I'm going to weigh in Monday.
I still have all next week off (more vacation time than days of the year left), so I'm starting the program tomorrow. You and I will do it together Johnny. ![]() It won't be easy - in fact it will suck azz, but we'll feel better down the road. I'm just glad Mrs. G isn't the best cook. ![]() ![]() -

Ok, let's share secrets on how to lose weight. Mine were fairly simple, and worked well.
The basic premise is easy...eat less (calories, not quantity), and exercise more My plan to LOSE weight: 1) Exercise more...go to a club 4x/week for about 70 minutes 2) Park farther from the stores and the building at work...so walk more 3) Reduce "bad" foods by 50% or more. Meat, cheese, fried foods, etc...have more calories per bite of food than most foods and the calories are in bad forms, such as fat 4) Eliminate alcohol completely...too many non-nutritious calories 5) No sugar 6) Oatmeal for breakfast every morning Then to maintain weight loss: 1) Continue exercise 3x/week for 50 minutes 2) Reduce meat intake (lifestyle change) by 25% 3) Alcohol 1 night/week only 4) Reduce "bad" foods by 25%...see above. Basically that means 1/4 of my meals weekly are nothing but fruits and vegetables....although something like spaghetti is ok so long as no meat in the sauce and use wheat pasta 5) Sugared drinks must be rare 6) Don't eat after 8 pm Works for me...I'm sure everyone has their own plan. The only reason I've gained weight recently is that I deviated from the above...lack of control recently.

..it sounds like we have quite a few with issues like me, but hopefully none of you have the real health effects yet.......I am going to try my best to eliminate most of those with stomach loss and exercise......
![]() Lets use this thread to stay in touch on this; let us know of good days and bad days, and maybe we can keep each other going in the right direction....

ours is not so much because of health it's that I used to be in really good shape and now I am....well - not. Although i am down to 280 as of today off of only adjusting my diet which for me is pretty good. I will work out some lightly to prepare for the hard stuff coming but Feb 1 will be when it really kicks off for us. Kelly I need to do it not for any reason other than I need her help with having healthy food instead of just crap in the house. She can think about getting in shape and tone up some how....or lay off the wine for a week and lose 8 lbs which on her is a ton. She want's to drop 15 lbs but with the work out the way it is being designed and the diet plan we will be building a lot of muscle so it won't be just done in a few days and back to normal for her
And more importantly i won't starve!

We're in the "cleansing" process now until Monday...that means getting rid of all the "bad" foods in the house. I'm pigging out on cheese, M&Ms, sour cream, beer, and so on. Terry may want me to sleep in the other room tonight.
![]() Monday is D-day....I'll be ready and will post an initial weight.
