oh well, wife is at Bunko for the night,,,,,so off to Golden Corral for salad and mediocre steak..........Linda refuses to step foot in the place (she has standards, I never claimed to have any) so this is my chance to indulge a bit (still on a diet though, 21 pounds down over the last 12 weeks)...wish it was some of that fresh shrimp Heidi mentioned.....

I had a good chuckle a few years ago, I had to go to Leawood, KS for some business. We went to lunch, some chain that we don't have down here. The women we were with, Were all into the fish.. My colleague and I looked at each other and said, we'll have salad please. They were all excited they could get "fresh" Tilapia!!

..well, it ended up not being too bad for a quick meal........the salad stuff really was pretty good, veggies were decent, and they had some coconut shrimp that were good for not being in a coastal area......overall passable meal.....the only bad thing was some old fart (kinda like me) seated himself at the next table and promptly used his cell phone (talking loudly thru one of those in the ear type jobs) for a few minutes, until I picked up all my stuff and moved to another part of the restaurant....hate to be forced to listen to others' phone call while I am eating.....

yea, folks can't appreciate fresh seafood from the middle of the country....what I really like is shrimp, and I have been fortunate to live near two of the areas with large shrimp fleets in the south east (south Louisiana and St. Simons Island, Georgia)......sure do miss it.

..and why go to a mediocre restaurant?....well, basically to get out of the house, since I am working from home today and tomorrow....and because of my diet, there is a limited range of places I can easily go, and this place as least gives me some low carb choices.
