How Cold Is Too Cold ?

-20 actual here today with wind chills of around -35 to -40.

My pickup made all kinds of weird noises this morning when I left for work. I just told it to shutup, if I had to go, so did she.

-8 this morning in the commander taking Kyle to school. THat electric remote start I put on for part of Kelly's X-mas gift is looking like the best thing ever. It allows the car to run for 20 minutes and be started from a long way off. Even with 20 minutes today it still wasn't all the way warm....but a lot beter than it would have been. Also nice to start it from the pool after his swim practice

Did the same thing to the wifey's van for Christmas.

VERY nice (until the damn van battery died).


I'd put one on mine if it wasn't a company car. I don't want to pay for something that I don't get back or have to pay to unwire and move to a different vehicle next year.

I can hook you up here in Nevada!!!! And I tried to GIVE my two homes away in MI when I moved, got ride of them both, but had to go into closing with money!!! Yes, I had to pay some to dump them both at below what I owed, and trust me, I did not own much prior to the bottom falling out... BUT, I am DANG glad I got ride of them both..... Around 8 degrees here today. I work outside and just dress for the temps.
Some one told me once there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing. As for the car, it sits in the garage dreaming about warmer days.

My work site has been temporarily changed to 6 miles from home. I'm glad I got the heated leather seats. I barely have any heat by the time I get to work.

That's why God made space heaters. I've got 2 parabolic heaters in my garage for just that reason.

It works real well, but I don't know how much energy it uses.

I usually put it in my van at night to keep stuff from freezing up.

We've got a couple of those in the house. Those retain the heat long after the power is turned off.

Tomorrow we are having a heat wave, it's supposed to hit 48.
