Default Route 66 cabins
These aren't car show pics, but I was driving down a part of old Route 66 that runs though town today, and noticed these cabins. They've been there so long that I don't even notice them any more, but today there was orange construction barrier in front of the piece of property that they sit on. They're gutting the building that was the cowboy bar next door, and I was afraid that these old cabins were slated for demolition as well, so I ran home and got my camera and took some photos of them before they disappear. I bet there are some great stories, if those walls could talk.

Cabins next to the cowboy bar does sound kinda Brokeback Mountain.





Seriously though they are true Americana, it would be a shame to see them go. Don't know what anyone could do with them commercially though.

Jon, reminds me of the ones down in Rolla along 66 where I grew up........most are either removed or falling down unfortunately......reminds me of how old I am getting...

am glad that 66 is gone or redone however,,,,,it was a bitch driving on that narrow roadway, along with those edges that curved up...
