Default Ceramic Brake Pads

I was thinking of changing out the current brake pads for ceramic ones. I hate all the dust that is coming off all time. Has anyone changed theirs out to ceramic pads and how was the performance compared to the current pads?

Default Re: Ceramic Brake Pads

I have had 2 aftermarket sets. I forst went to the porterfield pads and there was some less dust but not as much less as I wes expecting. I then went to the Stillen rotors and the Mintex pads in the BVM performance store. I got the stainless brake lines too and it's amazing. The pedal is firm and responsive and the look is great with those rotors. The dust is much less. Not 100% gone but much less. I don't even have to wipe the back end off after every drive now. I'm not sure how they would work with the stock rotors but I'd try them before I went back to the others.

Hey there,

The Mintex pads would work fine with the OEM rotors. The Stillen rotors will perform a little better - but if you are looking to replace only the pads - the I am pretty confident you would be happy with the Mintex pads. These arent yet available for the Mustang GT/Shelby GT - onlt the GT500 fronts.

Default Re: Ceramic Brake Pads

I tore LuLu up pretty good in Terlingua, took years off her brakes and clutch. So, I upgraded her rotors, pads and added the Goodridge SS lines and AP Ultra 5.1 fluid. I purchased Stillen rotors and Stillen metal matrix pads from Page Nicholson, and my confidence in LuLu's braking is restored. Clutch is next.

Let us know how the clutch works out.
