Clutch and Brake Fluids

In the coming weeks I am to have my TSB done on my clutch.

I have changed/flushed my fluid to a new fluid.

Motul RBF 600.

I will be bringing a quart or so to the dealer so that they will use it when doing the change.

If the dealer insists that for warranty they need to use the factory fluid should I be concerned?

This brake fluid 'type' is the same base as factory fluid.

How much fluid if any do you think they will need?

Amazing? Amazing that it works right or better than stock? Not trying to be sarcastic, but not sure how to word the question either.......

My clutch was so hard since new, August 12,2006, that it would nearly throw your back out. I was always told that was normal. I always "thunked" going into 2'nd, even after my first clutch, tranny and flywheel change months ago. When I got in my car last week, even before I started it, the clutch was much more managable. It engages sooner, its smoother, easier to depress and makes the car much more easy and fun to drive. The tech didn't expect this kind of difference as he said the TSB was mainly aimed at warped flywheels. I don't know, but I'm happy.

To flush the system I would think you would need a lot more than a quart.:Bigguy:

I use 2 when I changed/flushed the system.

I am wondering how much it would take the dealer when doing the TSB?

TG , I did the same thing (Motul RBF 600) when they changed my clutch and Trans last spring. I left a pint with the tech to add as needed for the new clutch and there was still some left over .

My new parts are in so I will be going through this once again probably this week .:trouble-1:

If there is excessive wear on the clutch it will increase the amount of tension and cause a stiffer pedal as it wears more. As the cast iron flywheel gets heated up excessivly it will expand and due to it's ability to retain heat it will reduce the norman clearence between it and the clutch . This will cause the clutch to remain partially enguaged while the pedal is depressed which will cause premature clutch wear as well as syncro wear and eventually lead to failure of the clutch and possibly transmission .

Why are you getting the TSB done? Having more issues? Or getting it done for sake of getting it done. I talked with them about doing mine since the clutch pack p/n's are different, but the flywheel is the same. They said i had all the latest parts (questioning the clutch still), so it's not done...yet!

I believe they said you have the latest upgrade Flywheel, that is the issue...the flywheel.

Since they are changing the flywheel they are changing the clutch also.
