Default FRPP Handeling Pack Advice Needed

I want to install the FRPP handling pack on my 09 vert. The guy at FRPP said that the handling pack was designed for a coupe and didn't recommend it for a vert. He said that some people have installed it on a vert and because of the weight difference of the vert it will sit about 1/2'' lower than the coupe. The kit lowers the coupe 1-1/4" so the vert would be lowered 1-3/4".

I'm not sure what to do.

I think lowering the car 1-3/4" will be to much.
Has anyone with a vert installed the Handling pack?

My main goal is to stabilize the car, It feels top heavy in the turns.
Would I be able to accomplish this by just installing the 2007-08 SVT MUSTANG ANTI-ROLL BAR KIT (M-5490-B)?
Ford Racing Performance Parts [M-5490-B]

Whats the best way to go on this?

Orf has it on his Vert.

I'm sure others do as well.

I am sure others will pipe in, by MANY have used this kit on their verts with equal success and loved it. I would consider it, but my driveway would not allow me to lower my car any more than stock. Good luck!

Thats my concern also. Thats why I was thinking of only doing the ANTI-ROLL BAR KIT (M-5490-B)

I have read on some other forums about guys with verts using the coupe stock rear springs with the rest of this package to get the look/ride they were after...no first hand experience but makes sense with the extra weight on the rear

Here are a couple pictures of mine with the FRPP lowering kit:

If anything, the rear sits a little lower than a coupe would. The front is just about the same as a coupe. If you want to get technical about it, the front splitter on the vert probably sits a few thousandths of an inch higher than that on a coupe, because the rear is is a little lower.

Looks great!

Can't wait to see mine lowered tomorrow...this is the stance these should have left the factory with

Are you running KDW's on there? If yes what kind of HP are you running and can you get them to hook? Sorry for the thread hijack but in the market for new tires.

I installed the handling pack back in April (just in time for Shelbyfest). I really like it and I don't think it is too low. If you want me to snap some pix of it, I'll be happy to.

Yes on the KDWs. They are better than the stock Goodyears, but they still have issues. I'm at 650 to the wheels.

Looks like you're getting the info you need as far as fitment...but I don't see much about whether the package helped it feel less "top heavy" in the turns.

I'm not an expert on handling, but I believe the way you dial in oversteer (which I believe is what you'd want) is to put in a softer FRONT swaybar relative to the rear one. In other words, it's the DIFFERENCE in sway bar sizes/stiffness that really does what you want.

understeer / oversteer corrections

I have no idea what parts are in the FRPP kit, so most likely they've engineered all of this in.

To be honest with you I like the way the stock GT500 looks and sits and I really don't want to lower it. What I don't like is the way it handles in the turns, It feels top heavy. All I want to do is get rid of that Top Heavy feeling but I don't know how. I will look at the info you sent me, I'm not sure if I will understand it, I'm a carpenter not a mechanic.
Thanks Dave

I'm not an expert on handling, but I believe the way you dial in oversteer (which I believe is what you'd want) is to put in a softer FRONT swaybar relative to the rear one. In other words, it's the DIFFERENCE in sway bar sizes/stiffness that really does what you want.

understeer / oversteer corrections

I have no idea what parts are in the FRPP kit, so most likely they've engineered all of this in.
Good point and I think you may be correct!
