Default FRPP rear springs only?

After seeing farmdog's car with his new rear springs I have been pondering doing something similar.

After looking at the pics of my car on the dyno I think I really need to do something about the ride height in back. I don't think I'm ready to do a full suspension change out right now. The idea of replacing just the rear springs intrigues me.

What about buying a set of FRPP springs and changing out the rears only?

I have 2 reasons for holding off on the fronts for now: 1) My front spoiler is chewed up enough right now, I don't think I want to lower the front anymore than it is for awhile. 2) I think I may eventualy go for a suspension kit, I don't want to make a change now that requires a front end alignment, then have to do it again in a few months.

I have a set of replacement LCA's and I think I may order an upper and a new panhard bar as well. By just changing the rear springs I could get all the rear components in at one time and not have an alignment done.

Any thoughts?

IMO, if you just do the front you may diminish the efficiency of the suspension with the unequal ride hight.

Further, your car will still look like a 4X4 in the front.

Do both front and rear if your are going to do it. Further, I don't know where you cold just buy the rears as the FRPP springs are sold as a front and rear set.

I know what you mean about scraping up the front chin spoiler; I've done it several times already and I'm at the stock ride height. But still, I'd like to lower the rear and the front as well, but not by the 1.25" offered by the Ford Racing springs.

I am contemplating getting the Ford Racing springs and just using the rear springs for a 1.25" drop. Then when the 2010 GT500 fronts springs become available, I'd like install those up front. I have read that the 2010 GT500 shares the front suspension with the 2008 - 2009 GT500KR. If so, the front will be lowered just a tad by 20mm (0.79 inches). That may be ideal for me, if not then I'll have the Ford Racing front springs to work with.

With stock struts the frpp springs only dropped my front about .75 inch with the rear drop about 1.25 ... The front did not drop as much as advertised and barely even effected my alignment

I did not even take delivery of my 500 in 4x4 mode, I had the FRPP kit shipped to Winner Ford and installed during the PDI and they did it for free. I have also never hit my chin spoiler, but you do need to be careful and watch which driveways, parking lots, etc you are going to go into and at what angle you take them at.

I just got done putting my rear springs on. It was an easy install. I did notice that I need to install the adjustable panhard bar. The car looks much more level and it filled up the wheel wells real good. The rear shifted over about 1/2 inch. As soon as I got it out of the garage to go on a quick spin, it started to rain. So I took it out for a quick drive. The ride quality seems to be the same as before. I am not sure about the handling since it was raining. I had the Roush rear lowering springs on mt old 05 GT and it rode much harsher than these FRPP springs.

Sweet! I'm gonna go for it I think. Ohhhh Joe! What kinda deal deal can you get me on a set of FRPP springs? Can I pay you in flea control? You may need it after hanging out with this group at Shelbyfest.

I haven't noticed any but like I said, it started raining and I didn't want to get too crazy. If the weather clears up enough later this week, I am going to find out.

What I found is that the 1 1/4 inch drop caused the axle to touch the stops. If I had anyone in the back seat, the car road a little rough. After I trimmed the bump stops, it rode better, not rough.
