GT500 Brakes on Mustang GT

My wife wants to track her car at Hallett next year. In preperation for that I think I need to at least to a front brake upgrade on her car. She has a 05 Mustang GT. She doesn't want to get into Class I racing but I figure to have her start in Class III. There is no passing in this class but you can get into some speed in this class as well as some braking. I don't think I would trust the factory stock brakes on this car as I think they are just a little too weak for this.

I was thinking that maybe I can get a set of Brembo's off a GT500 that someone has removed from their GT500. I am thinking that they should fit. Has anyone tried anything like this?

Yes, a buddy of mine bought some GT500 Brembo's off a guy on TS. They look great as he re-painted the Ford Blue. I'll see if I can find the pictures of them on his car.

may require some other parts, not sure. Such as backing plates, rotors, brake lines, etc. I also wonder about the master cylinder since the volume of fluid pushed into the calipers is likely more than the stock setup.

If you're going to road track it, make sure the rotors can handle the abuse.

For her to start out, I think Class III would be good enough. If she graduates past that, then different rotors will be needed. I think the GT500 rotors can handle the Class III racing easily.
