It's not highly technical, so any shop that does struts/shocks should be able to do it no problem. I don't like "chain" shops - new mgr every other month, same with most of the techs. Find a small shop where the owner's there and doesn't mind you asking lots of questions and expects you to care about your car. Just my opinion. -

That must be the gathering in Oveido ,FL. I was there last year without my car of course . You wouldn't get your springs done there though, it takes place in the horse coral . Nice gathering if it's a sunny day .

You could always send your car to SAI for the spring install.
![]() Otherwise, find a reputable dealer in your area or a highly recommended mom and pop shop.

ok, so I spoke with a local shop that was highly recommended.....to do the following:
Spring install $250 Alignment including cambers $100 $350 plus tax....is that about right seems high to me...now I know a guy who has installed springs on his v6 and his gt, he offered to install with me we can get the spring compressor from Autozone, etc is this something I should attempt. he has experience, I have NONE. (except for rear springs) anyways, I figured if I could then that would save me the $250... when I spoke with the shop, he was very good and cooperative, some of the other things he advised were neccessities was the following ADJ UCA: he said if I am a drag racer and want to set the pinion angle straight< I advised, I am not a drag racer at all then he advised for a bump steer kit since the tie rod ends geometry would be changed (anyone here, advice?) I passed he then said definitely a alignement and advised to get the cambers as it will help and they only cost $15. then he advised about wheel hop and LCA's twisting on these cars and told me to change the LCA's? again not sure of the necessity here....to remind everyone, I am just looking to lower the car a little...I am not looking to drag race, I am not looking for a different ride just a lower ride without a negative impact on the current handling. I know that LCA's are a future POSSIBILITY of mine... so if anyone can give me a little more advice on the questions in bold it is appreciated....if I dont change the UCA (really never plan to) what LCA should I go with? He said an LCA with a relocation ,,recommendations or should I get thx guys...

If you just want to level out the car, just install the rear springs and an adjustable panhard bar and call it a day. If you are looking to lower the overall car, then adjustable camber plates may be needed to make sure the front is adjusted correctly. The adjustable UCA can wait for another day since you are not drag racing. The geometry of the drive shaft is not going to change alot to make that much of a difference in my opinion. You can always get an adjustable LCA to correct that later. You would use the relocation brackets if you change out both the UCA and LCA. As for prices on changing that out, I don't know.

Many have gone with JUST the LCA change and it's cured or 95% eliminated any wheel hop.
Favorites seem to be: BMR - simple design that works J&M - my favorite due to the improved bushing design - many flavors avail, including a very nice billet alum version that I'll be using. We have many in the store now - can add the billet one if interested. Easy to install too - so it's not a hard mod for you to do at home. -

The price he gave you seems fair and I would say it's worth it . As far as the bump steer kit it is really only necessary IMO if you plan to track the car not for normal street driving. However you should consider an adjustable panhard bar to recenter the rear wheels and an adjustable UCA to readjust pinion angle. The stock LCA's are not necessary to change at this time. If the camber is not within specs you may need the camber bolts.

Not really....that is to help you get rid of the wheel hop and adjust pinion angles.

what VD said. if you want to retain suspension geometry after lowering, then LCA lowering brackets is what you need. Look at them (LCA's) after lowering and determine if needed or not.

Would the use of caster/camber plates up front reduce the overall front end drop from the lowering springs? For example would the 1.25" drop be reduced to something less - say 1"?

i installed the frpp handling pack with j&m camber plates, and my front end is lower than ch53's whose only lowered using springs...we measured, i am 1/4" lower than him. we measured from ground to edge of splitter, and same at both wheel wells to edge of the wheel well panel.
