Saw one in person a couple of weeks ago and was impressed with it. Those heim joints are very large . My only thought on them is as with any heim joint used in a street application they will require frequent lubrication and cleaning of road grit to prevent premature wear.
Overall I liked it though.

My only concern is that device may be loud but not sure as it functions a long way away from the passenger compartment. What do you think? I'm really considering this piece, not the polished, I think an extra $500 for the polish is too steep, IMO and the regular piece is on sale now for $200 off from Techco. Further, I'm thinking these Techno guys are from Saleen so this piece is probably an evolution of the Saleen designed piece.

I have the non polished, just haven't had time to install yet. Looks like a good piece in person but like everything else with these cars there is only one way to find out and thats put it to the test.

The inherent problem with any heim joint is that it is exposed to the elements and the lubrication isn't sealed in . That's why you don't see them used by car manufacturers much if at all. That said they do work extremely well in allowing precise controlled movement and articulation of any moving parts.

I have a lifted Jeep with lots of heim joints in the suspension and that definitely has vibration and noise transimission issues from them but so far I have nothing like that with the stang. (fingers crossed!) |
