I had the Duralast Gold brake pads on my SGT, but I didn't like the way the writing on the back of the pads showed thru the calipers, so I took them off.

Only the rear ones show, and you can't see the writing because I covered it with the anti-squeal paste that came with the pads.

Too bad you didn't do any before and after 40 mph brake tests.Would have been interesting to see the camparisons.

I'm sure the OEM pads would have won, but for normal driving I really can't tell the difference.

The stripes on the car look so bright, I thought the stripes on the 08 Black 500 where darker and Matte or you could get white stripes in a Black 500....Maybe it is just the sunlight.

Or did you do some custom stripes?

Yes, good eye. The car came with stripe delete, but I wanted stripes. I went to a real good installer and they hooked me up with exact size stripes as OEM. Top notch 3M stuff. I really haven't compared them to a black one so I don't know how close color is to OEM. My installer said he stripes GT500's all the time and they are very close. The pic is a little misleading because of the sun. Here is a better depiction.

You could select stripe delete on any coupe no-charge MC, but you would still get the strip above the rockers just no over the top.

There was some dude with a red stripe delete on here but he sold it.

+1 I lit my Mintex pads on fire on the road course......they were literally smoking like a Cuban cigar. I use Hawk DTC 60/70s on the track and love them.

I have been a little leary of ceramic brake pads for street use. I know the stock pads dust a lot but I have been under the impression that you get a lot of rotor wear with the ceramics.

I am frugal and I don't like the idea of having to replace rotors at every brake pad replacement.

So, anyone use ceramics long term and what about rotor wear?
