Default Re: Steeda Torque Box Braces?

I have these and they are welded in, or are supposed to be be but I have not had the car on jackstands to check it visually since I got it back. I had everything welded in as I wanted to car to be as stiff as possible due to the increased horsepower.

Lots of folks don't own a welder, so manufacturers must make an option(bolt-on) that the bulk of the population would purchase that they can install with little to no hassle.
go with the true part that welds in. just my 2 cents.

IS
+1

Failed fasteners are also an issue with these bolt on chassis parts...

Given the size of the bolts installed I'm suspicious about the loads shared by bolting these 5 attachment points are great enough to fail the bolts in shear. I would agree welding the brace would distribute the loads more efficiently providing addition stiffness. I will rule out drag strip launches where as the aft bolt may yield in tension where the chassis could be subjected to large doses of torque.

SS...do you notice a big difference in ride quality with these SS?

Is there less chassis flex, roll etc, when you turn in?

Any increased harshness when just driving around town?

I have only driven the car twice since all the mods, only once with any agression. my answer so far is I notice an increase in NVH which I would contribute to additional stiffening.

I have changed so many things at once I can't give a good assessment of any one component. I need more seat time.

Science would prove bolting these braces in will provide only a fraction of chassis stiffness compared to welding.

NVH comes with the territory...not much though...mine are not welded, and the cars been launched pretty hard a few times, so far so good..but its nothing compared to a road course event...

True, you have to accept a higher degree of NVH as you better your car for the track. One has to determine how much is acceptable to their liking.
I have never participated in a 1/4 drag race... I personally have to have left and right turns, on the brakes, on the gas over and over again. I do however have a ton of respect for some of you guys and your reaction times and ability to get down the ¼ mile in a hurry… that is BAD A$$
