Yeah! IN!!!

I love Shelbyfest. It's my one car show I have on the list for ever. Hermann is just a cool little town and the drive in is such a blast with all the cars together. Many good people come out and my son Kyle who is 4 now has been to both Shelbyfests too and asks all the time about our next trip to "St. Louis" which is where shelbyfest is to him. The wife even came to the last one and liked it tool. We stayed an extra day to go to all the little shops and that was fun but the town kind of closes down on Sundays so it may be that we need to stay another day to hit some of the wine places and the brewery.

I want to own the fire house at the top of the hill still too. We need a Mafiafest!

I'm excited about this. The drive across Kansas is going to suck, but it sounds like a great time. Should be a good caravan of Colorado folks.

Are we still waiting for info or have people starting making arrangements? My Dad is scheduled for retirement in Jan. and is planning on going with me to this event.

I usually wait to see what all comes out in the start of the year. THe last 2 yrs I've stayed in Ofallon, IL the night before for the big caravan in but it is hard with my wife who is non functional in the mornings and my son who is up all night in the hotel rool because of his excitment about all of the cars outside.

I'll hold odd on reservations until we find out about track times etc and decide where and wehn to go. We stayed in Hermann 2 nights and were in a bed & breakfast place that gave us a room with a door to close for the boy so he could sleep and I could still watch TV - it actually worked out nice and we spen the week end there enjoying the town. If we bring Katie too this yea we'll need something with yet another room so I'll have to start digging around before long but the site: ShelbyFest 2008 Homepage has some links to places in hermann. I'm sure as we get into winter and beyond there will be a lot of trafic arounf the event this year -- it seemed huge last year after the humble start of 26 or so of us taking picks on a beautiful farm the first yr.

I'll wait until early next year. I may even try to get my wife to come to the next one. She'll basically go to one show a year with me, so I have to choose carefully.

I enjoy staying in Ofallon Illinois also the night before. That way you get to caravan to the show, which is one of the fun parts. Lots of good people in the area including Kyle (Shelbyfestguy), LaMonte (LSR) and others. mrfarmdog has been coming up from TN, Johnny Lupara comes over from Kansas City, and more.

I'll make sure the wife has it all cleaned out and ready to go. If you do plan on staying in Hermann and don't want the expense of a B&B and you only need one room, try the Hermann hotel. There is alot of room there and it is not as expensive.

You don't need to have a Shelby. This is all about fun and friends. You're welcome to come and participate for sure.
