Engine Oil
Does anyone know for sure what the difference is between spec. WSS-M2C931-A and WSS-M2C931-B? No one that sells oil knows (for sure) but of course all speculate it is just so Ford can make an extra four dollars per quart. Is there any chance of warranty trouble down the road from using A instead of B? If I took a sample of each to a lab could they tell which was which?

OK, so the bottom line appears to be that the oil meets specs, just isn't approved by Ford?
Interesting that the cheaper oil is approved for the GT. Sounds like just another case of corporate greed.

spec a and spec b have the same part #, spec b is the updated version; I have used both in my car.........spec b is supposedly just a tad different from the spec a, I am sure for something pollution control related, but not enough to make a pragmatic difference. the referenced thread actually goes into quite a bit of detail, but presented with a choice at the dealer, go with spec b since it is a fresher package.
