Just remember their "claims" are made based on using their whole cooling package, not just the IC alone. I have already seen and held this IC and will be involved with some testing of it on a TVS equipted GT500 sometime this early spring. It does look like a very nice piece from my first impressions.

I believe their claims are way over stated and compare to what, no way! I think its good, but most of that stuff is already being done by some, including me, but I'm not seeing no extra 300hp, again compare to what, no inner cooler. Bill

I agree with you especially about the 300HP gains. I'll be looking to see just what the actual real world HP gains and temp reduction's will be. I should be an interesting gathering of facts and data.

How would a cooling system increase HP? Wouldn't it just maintain peak HP longer?

didnt a certain somebody post this bragging all about it...i seriously doubt the 300 no matter what...i'd have to see some back to back data showing the gain to believe...period.

This particular IC is advertized to flow 15% better than the stock IC. From what I've seen and compared by eye I would say that is quite possible. If it is less restrictive it will indeed flow more air .....more air flow = an increase in hp.
Add to that cooler air charge temps and you will have the best of both worlds.

The fact that it is UP TO 300hp, meaning that if you have a fully built drag or landspeed car then that is the maximum gains that you will see out of the motor from lower IAT's, ZERO timing loss & the ability to add in more timing when you add higher octaine to the configuration.

A properly setup and properly maintained cooling system will yeild and increase in HP with a good tune, due to the ECM pulling less timing.

I realize this is not a scientific comparrison but I thought I'd post a picture of each one for you all to see.

In the upper pic you can see how the stock IC core has much tighter and closer passage ways for the air to flow than the VTS IC in the bottom pic.

Although I haven't seen it tested on a flow bench I can see why they advertize a 15% air flow increase over stock.

IMO the stock IC was not originally designed for high boost applications (anything over 10lbs of boost) although is does work, just not efficiently.
It will be interesting to see how boost, power and cooling are affected by the new VTS IC.

Guess i don't know how this is set up.

I take it you need to remove the intake manifold to remove the intercooler piece.

Still thought the the S/C had a O ring gasket on it.

No biggie, I don't plan on doing any of this.
