My C&R Radiator installation & findings

I agree and can support the "no two are alike". Mine just touches the frame (maybe it's just off a little), and works great. We just installed CH53's at my place and his had clearance. Awesome piece though!

Good, don't buy from me or C&R. We don't need you or your off the cuff remarks.

OBTW, nobody else makes a High Capacity Radiator for the GT500 and my radiator cleared the support where Birdman's didn't because no two cars are the same. So, in an effort to try and prevent issues like this for people like Birdman, we are test fitting a radiator revision on a 725 Super Snake with the front tabs moved 2/16th's of an inch toward the front of the car.

How many manufacturers make a certain number and find out things like this and don't make more waiting for feedback from the masses? 20 Radiators made. 18 Radiators Sold. One cut his, on his own accord, yet you have the where with all to make your statement! You have no clue the research that went into this product. Ask questions before making assumptions. You do know what assume means, I hope.

Who I am? I'm a consumer who has expendable income to spend on reliable performance parts. Maybe your target market?

Nowhere in the starting thread was there a reference that this part was a developmental part that was still in the "guinea pig stage".

That said, clearly this part is on its way to being viable, that is clear by the significant lower op. temps with the unit and with a little more refinement should lead to more sales as no one wants to chop their cars.

I think I'm in the majority that when it comes to deciding on a high Performance Rad for our 500's we would choose one without having to cut the car or make due without.

Judging by the tone of your post, you look after the Engineering at the company not customer service.

Let's back up for a second. Everyone that bought one of these radiators or read all of the thread knew via all of the posts that I was the original "Guinea Pig" for the radiator. I designed and engineered the radiator for use on my own vehicle for on track conditions. I do not work for the manufacturer. I own four different businesses and none of them has to do with the automobile industry. I, like you, am an enthusiast. The dialogue that has been on going in this thread and others has all been very positive and informative.

Your remark simply stated, "It must be disappointing that you had to trim some metal on your 500 to facilitate this install. It is annoying when parts arrive supposedly made for a specific vehicle and application and they DON"T fit." and "Surely there are other aftermarket High-Cap rad manufactures that make one that actually fits. I would think twice about buying from these guys and I doubt that they'll want these instructions as they clearly state that to complete the install you need to take your Saws-all to your Shelby"

Your comments about "thinking twice about buying from them and I doubt they would want your instructions" were nothing more than your opinion and quite frankly, are as far from reality as could possibly be. As we both know from others posting that actually purchased one of these radiators my stance that no two vehicles are the same holds true. Some have clearance and some don't. The Saws-all remark.........well, Birdman confirmed that it wasn't a big deal for him and he knew that he could have sent it back and had the studs moved. But he, like many of us, is impatient.

The reason this product exists is that no other company makes one that is available today for sale that is a direct replacement fit for the GT500. Thus the reason why I became the "Guinea Pig". I shared my info and I shared my findings and I put together a group buy for those that were interested.

I did this as an enthusiast, not as someone looking to make a profit. I did this to help people I only know as call a name on a screen. But we are a community of enthusiasts who ask questions and seek out solutions. We help one another when we can. Thus the reason for this forum and this thread.

Yes, I am still smiling, I helped out a lot of great guys get an incredible product at a great price. Thus far everybody has been very happy and I have received a number of quick thank you notes which made it worth all of my time and all of my effort.

Yes, I found your comments to be undeserving as I believe that you had not done your due diligence and researched the product and or company thoroughly enough to know where we are all at with these radiators and their installation. Or maybe you could simply ask a question next time. That's how good dialogue starts.

I could have taken a different tact with you when I initially responded and I did not. Thank you, another lesson learned, again. Lord knows I try everyday, hopefully I will speak as I would like to be spoken to.

Van, Matt loves his rad. Working very well. We used two 1/2" long allen head bolts i had for his two upper mounts, which cleared the rad just fine.

I went back and re-looked at mine, and found one of the brackets misaligned..thus corrected it, and now have clearance like Matts. It's an awesome piece. A great investment IMO!
We actually took Matts whole front clip off for the install. It made it alot easier to work, plus gave him ample opportunity to "clean" his beast as it's his daily driver.
