I'm guessing that more info is to come out soon? Are you saying 40 rwhp on a pullied TVS? How about a stock TVS? I'm interested in the combo of TB and Plenum for sure. Sounds very good so far. Price on the TB TBD?

The faster the TVS spins the more our plenum & TB will benefit of course I am not saying spin the blower beyond its capability.A 2.6 upper and the 10% lower will give you more power than most Kenne Bells and whipples on 93 Octane depending on who tunes your car.

Not sure but I think he meant at the same boost levels. (boost for boost comparo) Obviously the larger KB is capable of making much higher boost levels because of it's larger displacement thus overall more power.

How much is this combo? I see the plenum is $275 but how much for the TB?

OK, let me rephrase that. Is there an estimated cost on the TB?

congrats looks great hydro... Sounds like it will do great.. Now if I could just give my opinion on how you unneccesarily attacked a certain vendor on another site when he was asking for interest.. As I stated over there no disrespect intended just felt you did not need to take the route you did.... Good luck to you with this great item though

I only related my personal experience exactly as it happened. When a item is sold without the proper R&D it will certainly make someone unhappy. When I worked for PanAm in 1969 we received the first 25 B747's. the Airplane was great "BUT" the engines were not ready. We changed 1-3 engines almost every time the plane crossed the pond.We had engine failure after engine failure. Those engine did not have the proper R&D.I have experienced many such incidents. The B727 is another example the JT8 engines were another aviation nightmare. So if I am angry over this my experience dictates that a item should not be sold before its proper R&D has been accomplished. This time I was directly involved with my expending time, sweat, and money when Justin spouted the virtues of his new TB with the same brass gears I felt I was compelled to relate my personal experience. If my tellall has angered a vendor its nothing compared what I have been through. This site is all about our members experiences so that others may be helped and not go through avoidable negative experiences themselves.hydro |

I can only speak for myself. The vendor complained to TS about my post(s) in that thread too ...and I was just asking questions and clarifying what the vendor, in turn, was asking me.
The vendor is certainly more knowledgeable than I am when it comes to tuning but is apparently unware that the TB gears are a critical part of the engineering of the TB and their characteristics are literally baked into the response-curve of the servo motor that Ford engineered/spec'd. If the existing tune is for a stock TB, a new tune will be required for the vendor's TB and, even then, can never be 100% correct, imo. Just speaking for myself and how I viewed what was posted, Hydro's post was just stating his personal experience with that vendor's TB so others understand what it is and what it isn't. I saw no attack. The vendor repositioned hydro's response and then hydro corrected the vendor and repositioned it back to what he experienced, how he installed it, and his concern with the product/transaction. I didn't see any attack though I can understand how it could be misinterpreted if the importance of the design 'problem' was unknown. Apparently it's unclear to many -- witness the mono. I'd be pi$$ed if I bought a product and got similar results. Personally, I have no problem with the vendor -- he's just selling a product and may be unaware (giving the benefit of the doubt) of the implications of the design ...dunno. But that's what I thought the forum is for. Sharing experiences, asking questions, helping others to avoid pitfalls, etc. The vendor asked essentially two questions: 1) who wants to see pics of my TB? (he posted them in post #1 -- done.) 2) who would be interested in having it ship with the motor and TPS? That second question is the one that begs the questions about what gears and if a tune is required, wrench lights, etc, because, if it has brass gears, a tune must be required and, even then, will be an approximation at best to compensate for the fundamental design mismatch. If folks know that and are ok with that, great. The CJ TB has gears that respect Ford's engineering, and such information is highly germain to who may or may not be interested in the vendor's offer -- i.e. his second question above. At least that's where I was coming from ...like I said, I can only speak for myself. If the vendor knows more now then he knew then, that's goodness too, imo. If he learned nothing new, then I have concerns on several levels that I won't go into. No one and no product is perfect. If that were the case there'd be no reason to strive for improvement. (...and no reason for TG to get to Orfstock via Kansas ;-))
