At first (about a year ago I think) they had a filter and set up that wasn't working well. Then he sent out different filters w/ new set up directions to those he remembered he sent them to.
If you buy one now it has long since been corrected. It is funny, but just today I emptied mine after about 600 miles and it was full. These things really work well!! .

I've been using the "Corvette" catch can since early 2008 and have had pretty good success with it. I've modified it with AN fittings and a swivel connector on top.
I keep a log of the oil that's collected over miles just to see how effective it is. Here's what I have compiled so far: 64 miles - 1 tsp 231 miles - 2 tsp 192 miles - 1.5 tsp 571 miles - 5 tsp 198 miles - 1.5 tsp 501 miles - 4.5 tsp 294 miles - 3 tsp 601 miles - 5 tsp (updated 2/27/2009) Total = 23.5 tsp I drive my car fairly conservatively so others may get different results.

Well, after finally getting the newer filter and instructions, and then finally getting arund to the install, it's done. Guess future drives will dictate operation. But i'm sure it'll be just as good as TG's...

Corvette Catch Can
Update: 294 miles - 3 tsp oil. Better in the can than on the intercooler. See post #25 for all the data I've collected to date. Last edited by 6-Speed; 01-10-2009 at 10:23 PM. |

After about a year of service, I reluctantly removed my catch can and returned the stock PCV line. Although I felt it did a fine job extracting oil and keeping it from coating the intake and intercooler, there were a few quirks about it that I was not quite happy with. I had noticed it would leak oil from the bottom lid around the perimeter when I removed the lines from it and capped the fittings; seems like the O-rings did not form a good seal. Also the drain cock started leaking around the threads. So now the can is gone and I'll just put up with the oil being ingested by the engine.

I still have my can on there but have considered it too. I keep a stock line in my trunk incase for any reason I need it....along with a SC belt, and some tools.
