Bypass actuator. It's position is somewhat adjustable by loosening the two mounting bolts then sliding it in the slots and retightening.

But by adjusting it will we alter the "bypass" point to where we lose max boost?

My gauge (factory) still maxes out even though I had to move mine slightly.

Has nothing to do with max boost . It is vacuum operated and opens when the throttle is closed to reduce pressure build up behind the throttle plate by bypassing inlet SC air around the rotors and into the lower intake.

The factory guage maxes out because the TVS pumps much more air into the intake at full throttle than the factory SC does.

Great write up Birdman! The FRPP intake also looks good.
one question, the oil that is pictured in the intake manifold, where does that come from? You mention to change the oil regularly to keep it clean, but how would you suggest keeping it out all together?

Thank you SLC,
The oil comes from the PCV system . According to Ford engineers it doesn't pose any problems on this engine like it did with the F150 Lightning because of the design of the vent tube routing .

Thanks George. So now I'm wondering if adjusting could be causing the throttle plate to have too much pressure behind it, which I suppose would restrict incoming air volume/opening.

I knew the 2nd part...just thought if there was a max boost issue I wouldn't know about it since my gauge is maxed out. I know, I know...I need an aftermarket gauge.

The factory guage only reads to 14.7 actually due to the fact that the factory uses a 2 bar map sensor located in the EGR valve. If you make more boost than that then yes you will need an aftermarket guage that uses a 3 bar map sensor or a direct connection to actual boost which can tapped into at the passenger side fuel rail.

PS . I wouldn't worry about the bypass not opening enough , as long as it gets vac it will open enough.
