if you are upping the power yes.

Mine went on with the stage 2 kit and shifter (since the drive shaft is out might as well do the shifter then) so I can't say seat of the pants difference but for strength it is worth it if you up the power. Put on a safety loop (I have 2). Don't skimp on the shaft (Just ask Harley dealer about breaking one).

Not sure what brand to suggest

I have the DynoTech 3.5" also. Not many miles on it since I put it on, but no issues so far. I also put on the frot saftey loop at the same time.

Same here.+1 one the front loop.
A one piece DS is really only necessary for two reasons the way I see it.

(1) If you plan on driving over the factory computer limited 155 mph.

(2) If you plan to add more hp and drag race the car and do hard launches with either slicks or DR's

NOTE: A one piece DS will contribute some minor aditional NHV to the drivetrain .

The more horsepower the more you need the 1 piece drive shaft. We tested the the difference in rear wheel power before and after and there is a difference. It will very per car. Flywheel power ratings are great if your running a generator. Every joint in the driveshaft will cause a loss of rear wheel horse power. More info available at R&A Motorsports.

none whatsoever...working great. been to NC twice, Philly once, and many long trips in VA...no issues...

I recently did the clutch TSB and had the dealer install my 3.5 DSS driveshaft from Evolution. I have also installed an 08 crank pulley. Didnt notice a difference with the pulley, but I felt the car revved a little quicker once I did the driveshaft. Of course it could have been in my mind but thats my story and I am sticking to it. I could see how reducing that much rotational mass from the drive line between the pulley and the driveshaft could free up some horsepower. Sounds good to me.
