Is there any real benefit to this on a car?

I've had them on trucks for obvious reasons, but not sure if any benefit on a car?

though..wouldnt that prevent axle rollup (appears to). Thought you wanted it to roll as near to zero during launches.

It's not doing anything to axle roll up. Look closely, it's not tied to the control arms or frame in any way.

It strictly stiffens the axle housing.

It's not a S197 (05 to 09). The mufflers are in front of the axle and the UCAs are on the top side of the differential case.

The point of this post is to see if there is any advantage to doing this type of mod to a rear diff on a car.

Looks like it weights a ton I really dont know what purpose it would serve. You could just weld the axle tubes to the center section if you were worried they were going to twist in the housing. If you had 8000HP. like John Force. you may have to have it but even he has a special differential.I don't think I have ever seen that on any car nice show piece though.
It is also the fastest color so I might be wrong

I've welded up axles on my trucks, was thinking the same for this. But I would have to pull out the guts to do it.

I was just responding to the remark of the car being an 04; derailing the thread I guess - sorry.

I have seen those types of trusses installed on 4 X 4s, perhaps they are beneficial to reduce axle flex if the vehicle has big heavy tires and sees a lot of offroad or air time.
